Our special-needs, seniors and
farm-forever greyhounds
these girls were adopted from us 5 years ago. We have kept in touch with the owner and we were told the hounds were great and everything was fine. Their home caught fire this summer and went to get them...this is what I found. Poor babies...they will live out their lives here at the farm with Julie. Both are sick, flea-ridden, underweight and have UTIs. Our online auctions make it possible to care for all the special greyhounds here.
I spoke with the vet who treated Flicka and Coast after the fire; he stated to me that the owners had declined any care for them except the rabies and DHLPP that are required for boarding. He was also concerned about their weight and the skin infections, but owners still declined treatment, heartworm testing or fecal exams as of  8-23-10.

The girls are now eating WELL! Three meals a day with a lot of supplements and antibiotics. The love going out in the BIG yard and doing what ever they want, FREEDOM IS GOOD!
"Coast found a good pillow with Bansaw!"
This is my "Rocky" Boy, thru NO fault of his own, he has been out and returned too many times.... he is a very timid hound and loves to sleep in my bed
My Hopper, he has been waiting for a home for over 3 years now, when they're here that long, it is hard for them to go somewhere else...but he would consider a special home
oh yea, and the Derby man, known to everyone, he may out live us all at the age of 14, he is still going strong, they sent him up many years ago with some retired racing greyhounds
Bugs has been here 5 years over the past 6 years, her dad has been to Iraq twice, her friend and partner, Wheeler, passed away in July, she may get to go home soon, Bugs is 14
My Happy Boy Bansaw, loved by all and greets all the new hounds, Bansaw is 8 now
